But seriously, I love your input - keep those ideas coming (within reason and budget of course lol).

you asked for it.... Well when you fab'ing up the shovel don't forget a "T-Post push pull poker so he can push and pull coals into the shovel as well as move them around in the unit... something like this.

and I wonder if JIMSMOKES JIMSMOKES really understands how much his "grilling" experience is going to change....? I think you need to install a remote go pro that has a live fee to this thread so we can see the grin on his face every time he fires it up.....LOL

I'm more excited about learning how to drive a grill like this than anything other I've ever used.
I'm installing some new security cameras. Maybe I can set one up! LoL

Yep - that one's already in the plans. I figure everyone who cooks on a Santa Maria with a brasero needs a shovel and a coal rake. And while I'm not sure I'm making heads-or-tails out of your drawing, I think we're on the same page lol.

I'm planning something that will have a rake-head on the end something similar to this image (random image I found on the 'net).

The rake is the idea, there is also a near to go side to side…..so I was drawing a in line blade to make a combo rack front/back side/side spreading….. it was me multi tasking on a teams call….lol
