well in the past couple weeks we have stocked the freezors up with some good meat for the smoker. Krogers fired it up with whole beef tenderloins for $6.99 lb. down from $13.99 lb.
but they were still $40+ down from $100+. i tried to get a friend to split one with me. he didnt want to. good thing. the following week the iga there had them for $4.88 lb. i got a whole tenderloin for $29 and change and split one with my buddie.
cut into 1" thick steaks and wrapped in bacon. talk about some cheap filet mignon. and the same iga the week after had butt roasts for $.89 lb. got 6.
before all this i got a kretchmar ham for $1.69 lb from schnucks. these were $40 hams. they were supposed to be limit one with $25 additional purchase. i got two and same buddie got 3. we didnt relize the limit or purchase till we left and read the ad. and neither did the cashier. we bought nothing but the hams.
these were whole boneless lean.
and now the iga again has spiral sliced kretchmar hams for $.97 lb. again $40 hams for $8-10. going after one or two today.
another iga in beardstown had whole ribeyes for $2.99 lb and whole new york strip for $2.79lb. i was going to go but after i called them they were sold out and it was a while supplies lasted thing. so i missed out. my buddie got a whole strip for $45. like 30 steaks.
