The controller for my Rec Tec RT-680 started having some issues a couple weeks ago. I called up Rec Tec and they sent me a new one, no questions asked. Rec Tec's exact response was, "weird things happen, but that's what the warranty is for."
I am very impressed with their customer service and their 6 year warranty. If you're on the fence about which pellet smoker to buy. Take another look at Rec Tec.

Love it! I have had stellar service from them. I had a minor gripe about a small thing on my cold weather cover and before I could finish their rep was already asking to confirm my address for the replacement.

the world would be a better place if all retailers treated their customers like this!

I’ve always heard it’s spectacular. If I wanted a pellet grill they would be my go to.

Controller. The temperature up/down buttons stopped working. Looked like some moisture got in there even though I use a cover.

There it is.. That is exactly why I went with the Masterbuilt gravity feed. Less parts.. super simple design. I was so close to getting a xl pitboss then I started hearing about those same issues and went.. NOPE.... I wanted something more dummy proof than the non digital type charcoal grills but all I heard was complaints from pellet owners. Same with the electrics lotta corroded electrical parts even when covered.

... then I started hearing about those same issues

all I heard was complaints from pellet owners.

Those are broad generalizations that I am not sure are universally true. not trying to start anything up here but...Any electrical or mechanical device can fail that is true. Think what is more important is the frequency. Some brands fail alot and some very infrequently. Rec Tec doesn't get many "complaints". this thread was about how great they are about standing behind their product. Not sure about "all I heard was complaints from pellet owners - unless they were T****r owners. Lots of happy pellet owners on this site using a variety of brands. Just sayin.

Very true. I was a bit skeptical of pellet grills before I got one. Even now I know it probably wont last as long as if I bought a stick burner, but I also use it alot more often than I would a stick burner because it's so easy. I frequently cook whole meals on it. When the weather is nicer I often cook dinner on it 3-4 nights a week. If I had something else, it would probably just sit there most of the year.

100% agree with you there! I had a charcoal smoker first and used it way less due to the effort needed. the pellet is so easy I use it for all kinda of stuff all summer. winter is hit or miss, more miss the older i get...

This statement literally makes no sense.

RecTec CS is great but I have had to replace several parts on my 4 year old 680. 2 ignitors, RTD probe, original controller. Then I upgraded to the new wifi controller and had to have it replaced as well. My concern would be after the warranty expires. Thankfully it's 6 years though.
