Ok so this might win the award for most random question ever put on the forum but as i'm getting more and more into competitions i'm continually trying to get more organized and maintain a sanitary workspace. In previous competitions i've been either in grass where i can easily drain water from the sink or near a drainage area where i can dump "grey water" (dirty water used from cleaning your equipment).

I recently competed in the Lakeland Pigfest (Florida) and the area to dump Grey Water was about 1/4 mile from my setup so carrying a large bucket of unsanitary water around vendors and spectators was out of the question and would have been very messy. Luckily our kind neighbors had a better setup then we did and let us use there cleaning station where there water drained into a bucket and that bucket was dumped into a 50 gallon drum...but that was also a messy and not to clean process, then hauling that large drum on a small dolly was also unwieldy.

So my question is....what do you guys use or can you think of any containers that would allow for water to easily drain from the sink to it, be able to be sealed up tight for transport, and be easily transportable to a drain station.

In college i worked at a place that had a gas tank on a dolly for filling up our boats, this was a nice setup. I'm wondering if they have anything like this or if i could make something like this (minus the "gun") for storing, transporting and draining dirty water.

any suggestions or ideas would be great! Thanks

I have a 4 bay portable concession sink. They can be pricey. I found one on Craig's list. For 1/3 the price. It uses a 5 gallon jug for grey water. Then has a smaller jug for fresh, with pump and water heater. You can buy the 5 gallon jug at Walmart the are fresh water jugs for camping. I would then lane it grey water big and bold. Bass pro has a fish cleaning sink that would drain in to it with the lid off also. If you are handy with tools you could build the setup. I didn't have time then when I found mine for cost of parts. Why bother. I can post photos if you have problems finding what I am talking about. Just don't have any right now with me. A google / eBay search should find some. On eBay there was a army field hot water setup I looked at. But still needed jugs and was one bay but made hot water.

The RV folks use a trick of leaving the gray water valve always cracked open just a little. Unless a person goes nuts and runs a bunch of water nobody seems to notice. Make sure it drains back toward somebody else..lol. We dont do tents.

I have several 15 gallon water jugs I use to store water in for an emergency,  that might work for you,  similar to this

http://beprepared.com/water-barrel-15-gallon-drum.html, can be sealed, and weigh about 129 pounds full.

the ones linked above are food grade, hence the hefty price. Water Drum dimensions: 23 1/4" x 14 5/8".

that's actually perfect! where do you get your from? do you spend $47 each?

I actually got them from the site provided, after looking around much and comparing prices plus shipping, the 50 bucks a piece turned out quite low comparatively. several sites where the prices were low, like 20 bucks each, shipping was extreme like 50 bucks each. This was about a year ago, still for 1, 50 bucks + 6 for shipping, I got 3 for 150 bucks + 12 bucks shipping. I couldn't beat that with a stick. I store enough water for 3 people for 15 days based on the gallon per person per day government recommendation (but that's another thread for another forum)
