Fired up the BFG today with some BB ribs, bacon wrapped onions, and a few chicken thighs and beans for good measure. Way more food than we needed and were able to eat but it did not disappoint. Ribs probably needed another 20min but the rest of the food was done and ready but they were still tasty.

Done and ready to devour.

Beans went quick, huh? How long does it take to prep the onions?

I've studied the recipe but it looks like it could be a real project.

All looks good but the onions really get my attention!! So you cut nice thick rings and wrap with bacon? An that sounds killer to me.

Yeah, actually followed Jeff’s guide that I got in an email a little over a month ago. Just cut 1/2” thick and the 2 outer rings for each one, a light coat of SBR bbq sauce. Wrapped with about 2 slices of bacon with a bit of Texas rub on top.

I made a dip on the fly with mayo, chili sauce, hot sauce, mango habanero sauce and some Texas rub. Turned out great! Definitely worth it!

Looks like a successful cook from here.

Point for sure
Chris

The whole meal looks great! Nothing beats a buffet. I can attest to the onions...they are wonderful! Prepping does take a little bit of time but so worth it. Just be forewarned, if putting out as an appetizer they disappear in less time than it took to prepare them.

I'll bet they do eat a lot faster than they make.
