I am currently stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO for the next four months to complete EBOLC.  Do any of you know of some legitimate BBQ joints around here?  Unfortunately, I couldn't bring my smoker so I'm going to have to rely on what the good people of Missouri can cook.  Thanks a lot for your help!

Drive around town... or a couple of the nearby towns... look for a greasy spoon with lots of pickup trucks in the parking lot... usually around noon or breakfast time. Go in and order you some grub and start askin around for some good Q.... you'll find it. I was driving through Missouri and out in the middle of nowhere there was this little gas station market on the side of the road and I noticed a huge stainless steel smoker out back. Went inside and came out with some of the best beef brisket I've ever put in my mouth. You just never know where somebody has a knack for smokin Q. Good luck.

first off,

 Thanks for your service!!

Like pig said, just cruise around and look see. Ask some of the locals and avoid any of the chains and anywhere that advertizes smoked grub that doean't have a smoker out back.

Thanks guys.  That's kind of what I was thinking I would try.  I'm sure I can find somewhere with some great que.

It isnt Q persay, but a great place to try some evening is The Cave Restraunt down 44 toward Springfield then head toward Richland on 7 Hwy, its about 6 miles to the turn for The Cave. Also ate at a little sports bar in Waynesville right next door to Orchelns Farm supply.

I worked down there for 4 months and I was sad to not find anyplace that I could say ( man that was good stuff ) bbq that is. I am really picky tho.

If ya go to the cave, don't freak out, its a little ways on a gravel road to nowhere and you may even see a hoot owl mating with a chicken LMAO. Its all good LOL the road even gets a little better the farther you go.

If you ever go to Springfield there is a great little BBQ Joint across from Bass Pro Shop on Campbell called Buckingham BBQ.  I eat there every time I go to Springfield... It is my Favorite There.  The also have one of the largest hot sauce collections for its customers to use that I have Ever Seen...

Be sure you go to the one on Campbell not the one on Glenstone!!!

Here is a list I found on Google.
