Hello everyone,

I'm new to the board and I'm looking for a little advice. I would like to make some pulled pork this weekend for my father and wanted to know if it would be better to smoke a 7-8 lb butt or smoke two smaller butts (3-4lbs)? Time is also a factor! Thanks in advance

If you want a faster cook, of course 2 smaller butts will cook faster.

Figure about 2 hours per pound on the biggest butt.

So if the largest butt of the two weighs 4 lbs. then your looking at around 8 hours smoke time at 225.

An 8 lb. butt will take twice as long to cook.

Al
