I was not sure if this is the right forum to post this but I thought what the heck.

A couple weeks back I smoked 18 lbs. of Brisket, I just finished cleaning out the main chamber but have a ton of ash and crap in the fire box. Is there a simple way to clean out the fire box (I have a Brinkmann Smoke-n-Pit Pro Smoker)?

I tried using just a shovel head but I could only get a little bit of the ash out and it made a mess? Any ideas or basic methods that people use?

Thanks!
