Well gang ....she used 4 chimneys of royal oak lump to do about 8 hrs of 200 to 235 temps ....this was my first smoke using charcoal ....all others done with the MES electric.....butt I think me and the ole Qbottle are gonna get along just fine

Looks great Tim! Did you find a difference in flavor after electric? Looks like you can fit a bunch of grub in there - that's always nice!
 
Debi ...only ate the abt's and fattys so far...the ribs n roast are for tommorrow

I did notice a better taste on the fattys and finally got the smoke ring ,which IMHO is not going to happen with electric...the ribs will be the true test for me

and yes it will hold a decent size load and seems to work very well
 
Tim, great looking food there. Doesn't it make you feel good when a plan comes together. All the hard work of making the smoker and the first run turns out looking great. Gotta make you feel good.

yes built it from an old 1986, 200# propane tank.....got the idea looking at the trash can smoker I saw online somewhere....and just went from there ...turned out okay for a first attempt...now lookin for more stuff to build a horizontal with sfb....

I can't help myself , I think I've gotta problem
