I smoked a butt the other day, didn't have any buns. So I made some. W hat we have here is pulled pork with my homemade BBQ sauce on a pretzel mini bun.

<sighs> no slaw but the sliders are pretty good!

A friend talked me into using her pretzel recipe, you know wouldn't take no for an answer? They are Ok, but I use a bagel dough to make pretzels, these were a bit heavy. But good.

Canadian bacon and belly bacon in the smoker, more tomorrow.

We must have been on the same page! Those look great! Pretzel buns look delicious! Do you do the baking soda wash? Or a different route?

Baking soda ( I boil them like a bagel), I hate to tell but, I learned about it when I first started making bagels. Don't tell only one I cheated please!
Lol! Nothing wrong with that! Thats the way i have always done them too. I cheated on my pretzel buns for burgers and baught them at the store!

I don't even like pretzels but homemade pretzel/bagel is hard to beat.

+1

I never saw either one of 'em till the service. You find something good up north it never makes it to the south. Only way to get a decent bagel, pretzel or loaf of rye bread is to make them yourself.

I love bagels. If you find a loaf of rye bread around St.Paddy's for a reuben, it's been on the shelf for 6 months!

Baking your own is a matter of necessity.
