Been using a single electric hot plate in my homemade smoker. Having to finish summer sausage in oven on account of low temps. I am switching over to propane and using a single burner. I have a metal shield that will cover the burner and hose. At what temps do I need to worry about the hose melting? Is one type of hose better than another?
Thanks, Mike

I am assuming that you are not putting the hose inside the smoker. Run a metal line to the burner and connect it to the rubber hose on the outside of the unit.

I hope I understood your question,

John
