Prescription Savings Diabetes medicines

I on Medicare now. Have part D. My Diabetes medicine is crazy high. I asked doctor to put me on something cheaper. One he sent in is $550 a month. I not doing that. Anyone have any suggestions for discounts or cheaper meds?

If you have a Medicare Part D plan, I believe diabetes meds are capped at $2100 per year. So if that's true then starting in January on new med may make sense.

I don't know what prescription you have, but Metformin is the primary T2 diabetes med most often prescribed, and it is inexpensive.

Check Costplus , I've refered people who've saved thousands annually if they carry it.

If I looking at the right one showing about $35. Guess to find out for sure I need get doctor to send prescription there? Albertson all ready has it ready but I not taken it.

Yep have them send it to Cost plus. Super easy to deal with

Wow I owe you large! Went from $550 a month to $90 for three months. Something not right here!

The med has Metformin in. I started on Metformin years ago but have moved up. I have lost 120 lbs over several years from 360 to 240 now. Still have a ways to go. Hopefully some day can go back to just Metformin.

Kroger uses SingleCare, its a no charge discount medication service. Im sure their website will tell you the closest location. You can price out meds there as well and see who has the best deal.

I use both Cost plus and SingleCare depending on the medication.

Was cheaper at Cost plus and Good Rx too. Anytime a med costs me I check those 3 as well as the direct manufactures web site. They often offer distinct cards as well.

I do pretty much the same thing for me and my wife. She is on Medicare and nearly everything is free, but when its not its time to shop around.

I am on ACA ins. and medications are rough with them unless I use their mail order system that blows. And they wont cover one very expesive one.

Just got my test results. A1C was 6.2 which is great! Total Cholesterol was 111 and good was 49. I think total is to low but what my doctor wants.

Medicare and Fed/BCBS. I been on a pump for 20 years. I pay 0 on everything. Medicare is your primary any other medical plan will be secondary. Metformin is bad juju.

I know nothing about this medication so I looked it up. It interacts with a LOT of meds and there is a sizable list of side effects to watch for. Maybe thats why?

I realize that is true for many meds and when you need to take it, you need to take it. But if there is something better? IDK?

all i know is that it's the #1 med prescribed for t2 diabetes. must be a reason for that.
