pre seasoning?

is it necessary to " pre season" my new  MES ? 

the book says to heat to 275 for 3 hrs and at last 45 min add some wood. 

why? Im new with this gizmo. didnt do that with the brinkman, I did however take all racks / cooking grills and washed them, they fely a little oily . thanks yall.

The CC also has some oil on the inside that is why you should pre season.

Do not skip this process.  It is important and does not really take that long.

Yes, do the pre season. Masterbuilt wouldn't advise it to be done if it wasn't necessary.
