This supplier sells bone-in shoulder in the 15-18lbs range. Up here (Canada) we don't call it Boston butt so I am trying to figure out this cut - as I thought Boston is around 10lbs.
 
It's probably skin-on, bone-in whole shoulder (butt+picnic). Weight math works out for this "configuration". Should I go for it or stick with boneless butt (bone in difficult to find)? I read some comments here on picnic not being best for pulled pork.

i think diggingdogfarm is right, although i never seen them sold in one piece like that, the only other thing that would weigh 18lb. would be the fresh ham but that isn't from the shoulder.
