Pops Cured Turkeys
Did two 14 lb fresh turkeys for the Scouts this weekend. Cured them for 48 hrs in Pops6927 recipe.
They were GONE in minutes. Did the same thing for Christmas and the breast meat was served cold with cheese and appetizers. GONE in no time.
Makes great soup also.
Smoked them in the GOSM with hickory @ 250ish for about 6 hrs. Internal breast was 165F when I pulled them off.
Absoulutely the best smoked turkey I’ve done. Simple clean flavor, slightly sweet with alittle salt. Perfect cold or hot. Sorry, the finished picture is from Christmas. To busy cutting turkey and pulling pig last weekend to get any shots.
Pops 6927 thanks for sharing your recipe with us. I am using the Lo-Salt version and also cut the white sugar in half. Again keep posting great stuff. Thanks
