I promise I will not call anyone names when they use an Electric Meat Grinder ever again!  Amen! Now that I have said that....and I will "pinkie swear" to this too!

I made 12 pounds of Pops Country Breakfast Sausage last night.  Yes...cut the meats off the bones...cubed everything. (found out my knives need sharpening)  Seasoned the Cubes...and went to grinding.  My tool is a 60+ year old Universal Manual Grinder.  Okay...first problem was finding a place to attach that thing.  Second was...I have done my exercise for 2013 now.  I have not formed them in patties or rolls yet.  Going to do that tonight.  I have 2 huge Tupper Ware containers full of tasty sausage.  At 11:45 last night...I gave out and cleaned everything...including bleach water and fell sound asleep. (I started about 6:00pm)  I am not as sore as I thought I would be today! Now I have a meat grinder on my birthday list!

Turned it on... started grinding   ...  finished 3 minutes later..

LMBO! I know what ya mean with that manual grinder stuff. We used to butcher 3 or 4 deer at a time and I was the "Mexican grinder, Manual"!

I tied one of those once. Packed it back in the box and bought the attachment for my KA. Gave the manual to a friend so he could grind fish for chum. But you'll enjoy all that sausage!

I still hand grind all my meat as well---Santa hasn't read my wish list in its entireity...  Keep up the good work, as you will really appreciate the final outcome, especially using pops time-trusted terrific recipe..

No nifty contraption....neither was the Universal thing!  (haha)...going to hand roll and then hand make the patties.  All I can do!

Going beck into sausage land tonight after work.  The taste was amazing.  Planning on using it for Breakfast of course with my homemade biscuits, sausage balls and Red Beans and Rice.

I am going to have one arm that look's like Popeye....if I keep doing that!

Kathryn,  I've got a grinder very similar to the one in your link.  Perhaps just a slightly older model.  I've been very happy with it but it does have limitations.  You still need to cube your meat.  If the pieces are too large it may trip the  breaker.  No big deal as there is a quick reset button.  If the breaker trips a couple times you know your feeding too much too fast.

Cool!  Anything beats what I did last nite!  LOL  Anyhoo---I have just started looking and since they are a sponsor...gotta look there first!  Thanks!

Lol! I know the feeling - once I started making sausage I immediately realized I had a VERY STRONG desire to own an electric grinder

Hey Martin - I thought you ended up getting an LEM?  Maybe I'm thinking of someone else  :hit:

When relatives were living adjacent, I had a share in the LEM and some smokers and other equipment.
When they moved away not long ago. I traded my share in all that for some other stuff that I needed more than the equipment, so I'm back to using the manual grinders and my little smokehouse and old charcoal smoker.

Hopefully this summer I can get another LEM.
