Smoked chuck tomorrow.

Used chupacabra brisket rub.

Not too much, you want some smoke to penetrate it.

Chuck all the way for me! Smoked one yesterday for enchiladas.....yum so good! Good luck tomorrow!

Nothing wrong with a chucky. Kroger in Bowling Green had brisket for 2.99 last weekend. It was also on sale a couple of week ago and I picked up a 24lb one.

I hope the winds dont start early, The bronco dont like the wind

Never tried one. Now I want to. I only have 8 or 10 in the freezer

I did two for the first time a few weeks ago and made a pile of pulled beef, and I think I like it more than brisket. It was awesome

It's like the forum gods were listening to me. I was thinking last night I need to break out of my comfort zone of doing the same few recipes over and over, and was looking at some of the cheaper cuts on Wild Fork. I think this one just got added to the list. More expensive per pound than a whole brisket, but I don't need 15 lb of brisket for a family of four!

Looks like your off to a good start. Like doing it pulled beef style here as well.

Nice start. Good luck on the wind.
How big is the chuck?

WFF is a little pricey for me on plain cuts of beef. I just watch Publix for a sale.
Family size varies from 2-4 depending on when the kids visit. I get far better usage from 3# of chuck than the 15#er brisket and the 2# of fat trim.
Plus it fits in my Jumbo Joe for a smoke bath before heading to the oven to finish

This may be blasphemy to some but I think I prefer good smoked chuck.
Me, too.

Wind was strong here yesterday afternoon . Got stronger as it went along . I was moving grills from rolling off the patio .
Good luck .

Im no meat expert, but lightly smoked them give it to mama cause she's the Tex-mex cook, and the enchiladas are fantastic.'
