I watched it kinda. It wasn't very good to me but I kinda thought it was shotty and everything was staged to it seemed. I know that theses guys all travel and it almost like a big family. But come on it was fake to me they tried to throw in too much drama. How did you like the two asian guys with there computer operated brinkmen's going up against these "supposed" pit master. And yes they are the cream of the crop pit "masters" and travel alot to theses things. And then come in 4th wasn't it in ribs.I have seen other shows about these compatitions and they seemed alittle more argumentitive (spelling) in this show then others I have watched. Then this was the first one for mequite too. I will watch it again but if it's like this one it will hit the skids quickly.

The negative comments re: Pitmaster's is dead on as far as I'm concerned.

The show was just plain bad. It is more fun watching one of Food Network's recap of BBQ contests, like Memphis in May or the Reno's big Rib fest...

The thing that seems to be missing is a overall driving force, besides just cooking good enough for that one contest. Maybe, following 10 teams that compete on a national level, that are competing for a overall prize. after X number of events are completed. $100 K to the winner, no 2nd or 3rd just money to 1st place. You can be sure with that kind of money on the line, there would be some drama without having to manufacture it.

Still I have the DVR set to record Pitmaster's series.
