I see a series-5 thread started here but seems to be for cold smoke

I am looking at purchasing one, I hear that it is hard to keep the 250ish temp that it goes 100 degrees hi when the blower comes on... I assume it is the same issue for the series-5 as well? ANy pros/cons would be great.. Thanks

I dont know but have bought my son and his family a series 5 for Christmas will report back on it as he tries it out,no help at the moment but there is a range that most lower end PG operate in and following instructions and not every thing you read on the net seams to work better.

I have been a stick smoker for years. I just purchased the Pit Boss Tailgater from Walmart just to see if a pellet grill was for me. I had the newbie mistake of the 100 degree temperature swings which lead me to this forum. After learning the "P" settings being my problem, my smokes have been great. As much as you read about P setting, it will still be trial and error. Pit Boss customer service has been great explaining the temp swing corrections as well as those on this forum.
If I shortcut on startup procedures, I will chase temperatures swings all day.
