Roof top chicken. Live trap them and do what you want to them. Once the feathers are off and the breast meat is in the freezer you'll never know they used to be a pain in the backside.
I think they also soaked the rice in some kind of poison too. All I know is that they'd eat it and die; I worked in a shoe store and had to sweep up the dead pigeons every morning off the sidewalk; the boss would throw rice at them. They'd crap all over the front of the building and sidewalk and on peoples' heads as they'd go in and out.
We have the same problem here in Texas with grackles, a kind of blackbird. Thousands of them would roost at sun up and at sun down on buildings' edges and in trees. They'd take off and drop bombs on passersby, I got hit several times myself. Last I knew someone invented some kind of rotating string contraption that drove them nuts enough they wouldn't nest and bother anyone. Don't know if it was motion or sound that got'em crazy.
Ron,
Down here there's a few folks that train retrievers that will come live trap the birds to use for dog training. May be someone like that around your neck of the woods?
