To straightening the lid out ??

Came home from camping over at Fort Wilderness (Disney) today... I carried the Kettle in the camper... I guess it wasn't secured very good... Got home and opened the camper door and the kettle was laying on it's side with everything scattered all over the place.... Went to put the lid on and of coarse it don't fit...

Tried to straighten it back out... Got it to where it will go on (with a little force) but it doesn't sit flat (rocks back and forth)... So now it's going to have a sealing issue... Is there a tried and true method to get it back straight ??

That blows Keith.
I had to straighten both the bottom and lid of my kicked to curb 22" and my Jumbo Joe after riding from FL to MN in a trailer.
I used a tape measure to figure out the wide points and just smacked it with a 2x4. Both still have a bit of a interference fit, but they seal.

Maybe the scattered ashes will keep the mice out of the trailer?

I had that happen to a brand new 26 , but it was the bottom that was out of round .
I took some measurements to find the direction it was out , and used a bar clamp to get it back in shape .
Mine was out 3/4's . The 26 measurement should be 26 1/2 .

So I knew I needed half of the difference . So needed to come in 3/8's .

Put the bar clamp on and flexed it past that number just a bit , because I knew it was going to spring back some .

I'd start by taking some measurements on the lid and the bottom .
