Is there a new limit on the size of pictures we can post? I just tried to post a picture in a thread I was starting and it said something to the effect: picture size is too big. It's the same size that I've been posting for years.

You would have to ask Brian bmudd14474 bmudd14474 . I think I would reboot my iPad & try again, I’ve never had that happen on this site, but often on other’s.

Thanks Al, I use a Lenovo chrome book. I've never had an issue before either. I'll try the rebooting and clearing all cache.

Nope I still get the uploaded file is to large. bmudd14474 bmudd14474

I've never edited any photos either. I've always been able to drag the image from my DCIM folder on my camara and place it in my post. This morning it wouldn't do it. I tried shrinking the image and my screen froze when I went to place it in this thread. I'll try again later. Maybe it's some glitch going on with my internet. What's weird is the image shows up where I want it then at the last second I get the image is to large error.

On my phone (Samsung s22 ultra) it's either select thumbnail or full image. I always select thumbnail so I don't hammer the servers with huge pics.

I've posted a few pics in my time here but never ran into a size limit issue. I know (at least I think I do) that the total number of pics allowed in one post is limited to 50...or at least is used to be but size per pic....nope. I do not resize any of them either.

Chris gmc2003 gmc2003 what page format are you running , and did it recently change ?
It could be the height to width ration that doesn't want to fit . I think the one choice had a narrow field of text with a wider side panel on the right .

Nothing has changed on my end that I know of Rich. I'm using dark mode, with medium font. I can copy/paste a picture from another one of my past threads. It's strange that it errors out just after the status bar finishes uploading.

I've noticed if I copy / paste that it takes forever , when before it didn't . Mine still post when I do that , but it stays " grayed out " for a long time . If I watch the statis bar it moves back and forth . If I use attach files it doesn't do that .

Anyway . Maybe check the properties of the photo you just pasted , and the photo you're trying to post . Compare the 2 . Chris , I always start basic . So that's where my advice comes from .
You using a phone to take pics ?
Same phone you used before ?
If I remember right you use a rotary phone on the wall .
New or different camera ?

Ok, so I was finally able to post a picture to a thread. I made two changes so I will try again and eliminate which change worked, and which didn't do anything. Please bear with me. Also if you can't see a picture please let me know.

Try number two. Change the pixel size. Ok that seemed to work. I'll have to change the picture size from now on. Apparently the site doesn't automatically resize anymore.

I changed the pixel width and length of the two pictures that I just posted. It seemed to work. I wonder if the site used to auto-resize pictures to fit, and somehow that feature got turned off or changed.

You using a phone to take pics ?
No, neither my rotatory, or wireless have that capability.

Same phone you used before ?
see above

Yup, I'm still old school.

New or different camera ?

Same camera.

Mine did that a lot a few months back and thwn just randomly quit.
I'm glad it straightened itself out, and that I'm not the only one. Hopefully mine will correct itself in time.

Cool . Glad you got it working .
Thanks, with me having to resize every pic. I can guarantee my post will be shorter. That should make most folks happier. LOL
