Naw man nice unit, enjoy your new toy....I mean tool.

Selection around here stinks! Really boiled down to two choices: GOSM or another unit sold at Mills Fleet Farm which was more money then momma alloted for the project.

Everyone around here carries the GOSM, had the smaller unit in stock or this larger one. Looked to be a decent unit for the price, so far I think I'm goin to be happy with it. Let you all know tonight after it's first smoke!

I bought the same model last year, have had nothing but good luck with it, line the water pan and grease tray in the bottom with tinfoil and clean up is a snap, also check forums for mods to the chip tray (replacing with a coffee can), as cast iron does take forever to heat up, I haven't done this yet but am thinking it might be a good idea. Do you use chips or chunks of wood? I have used mostly chips but would like to see if chunks last a little longer. Good luck looking forward to your pics Travis

Hey smokingrookie I have the same unit and i use an 8 X 8 alum pan instead of the coffiee can. I have read good things about the can method but heck I have good smoke before the unit comes up to steady temp. I have had good sucess with the pan and I use chunks, I usually have an extra one ready so when one stops smoking I just swap it out with the fresh one that is ready to pop in. I am still new at all this but from with the help I have got from here my Family is starting to like the "Q" thing. The first thing i done was a flop and they about made there minds up then that they didnt want no part of this stuff, but now they are changing there minds. I did a somker full yesterday but with all the rain I didnt get any pix's
