wanted to start a burn out on my next UDS but the town just put up a "burn ban" today.

I was wondering if I could cut the lip on the drum. a half inch deep and a half inch spacing around the drum to make a surface for the lid. Has anyone done this

I cut mine because the Weber lid would not fit the rolled lip. My cut wasn't very straight and cause the lid to wobble slightly causing air gaps.cut straight and you will be fine
