Hey, gotta a question.... I use Photobucket for my q-view sharing. When I am home doing this I resize the pics to the message board size of 640x480....I notice when I post the pics they look huge on my screen still...but when I am looking at work they appear to be the appropriat size. what is that about??? any help would be great for a less than computer savy guy. thanks

When you copy an image, what are you using? I copy the "img" info which is the last one of the 4. They are full screen but not causing anyone to scroll across.

I use PB and when importing the file from my computer into a PB album have the size defaulted to the same measurements as yours - 640x480 and turn up fine at both home, and work, monitors however both of them are 19".

What size is the monitor at home vs work?

thats the one I do... I was hoping every one else wasnt having to scroll across... thanks abe

Sumo.... I am so computer unsavy, I dont even know what size screen I have... am at work now so cant measure it, but Id gues prob 19... though I dont know what sizes they come in right off..

thanks folks.. just glad to hear everyone wasnt scrollin to see my pics

I try to make sure that when I upload the photos to the bucket , I check the options and make sure I'm at the 640 size.

and I just copy / paste the img line

But while we are on the subject , how many folks on dial up still have trouble downloading full size pics like these ?

Heres what I do.
Go and find the thread you want to link to. Then up near the top of your browser should be an adress line , do the left click right click ,copy thing like your linking a pic. Then go to the thread you are replying to and paste that line . it should turn blue when you post it.
Here's one of yours:

That will work nicely, I resize mine in my own files before I download to photobucket, then I use the URL line, 2nd one down and upload that. But its all about what ya get used to! specially when yer an old guy like me, and not to good with puters!

Yer right Dan , lot's of ways to do it , this is just the one that I got figured out and works for me. Some days though , i wanna add
640 X 480 max pic size

Still want to hear from folks with the slower connections , I know that in the past there were troubles with full size pics (640 x 480 ) loading up .
Is that still an issue ?
Am I showing bad manners regarding the amount of bandwith used ?

640 x 480 shouldn't be an issue. I have a 19 inch monitor and run 800 x 600 on all my photos. I tell people on here to use that size too. That size seems to keep photos at a good size without having to scroll right to view all the photo or read all the text. Alot depends on what resolution you computer monitor is set at though.

I have to do a little scrolling on the 800 X 600 pics , I Can't read things good if I up my resolution on the moniter.

Tried a bunch of settings , and settled for what works best for me. So if 800 x 600 works for most folks then I have no problem with that, But I will admit that I give up trying to read threads with pics at the 1024 x 768 size . I'll get most of the pics , but whatever writing is off the right side of the page often gets ignored, and by sliding the bar over so I can see most of the pic , I can't tell who posted the comments I'm not reading all of either.
Yes , I'm lazy

but it does get to be a pain to try and read a long response on a page with a huge pic on it
