I know Lumber Jack, Cooking Pellets, Smoke Ring and such are all good pellet but does anyone have any experience with Louisiana Grill pellets? I can get these locally and none of the other brands are available, except Traeger and I have heard too many bad things about their pellets. I would have to order online for the others and shipping really drives up the cost.

No, not me Earl.
I have some Pit Boss, and some other brands that are local to me, I did get some Treager because they had the type (Apple) that I wanted. So far, so good.
But I don't think I've found any Louisiana Brand Grill Pellets.
There are just too many others to pick from.

Have you looked at eBay? I switched to eBay because there are a lot of Free shipping vendors on it. I found a lot of Various pellet brands there, many with free shipping.

But I do get a kick out of those refurbished ads. How do they refurbish a burned pellet?:rolleyes:
Just be careful when you choose.

I have been using Louisiana Grill in my AMNPS because that's what I could find locally. I have had no issues with them. I can't really compare because I don't have experience with many other brands. But I have nothing negative to say about them.

I've been very fortunate to have local access to a good variety of pellets,Louisiana Pellets isn't one of them though.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I don't have my pellet grill yet, I'm just gathering info for when I do. I don't mind paying the extra cost for Lumber Jack, or Smoke Ring but the shipping cost makes these very much more. I can get the Pit Boss Comp blend at Lowes and I have read good things about them also. Just wondered about the Louisiana Grills pellets, as another option.

Lumber jack for $9 per 20lbs bag at rural king,no way am I pYing that much for any brand

I bought in bulk - Cooking Pellets 15 x 40# bags (mix it up any of their pellets) $351 w/ free delivery UPS.
That's $23.40 per 40# bag. Best I've found local was 20# bag of B&B for around $15. I figure that's probably a years supply of pellets for me +/-
Get a couple of friends to go in with you. I'm sure many other pellet suppliers offer bulk discounts?

Consider doing a group buy for LumberJack from BBQ pellets online. Contact them and they'll let you know of any group buys in your area, and if none, you can start one. They cost me about 38 cents/lb ($15/40 lb bag) delivered to Northern California - should be similar price to east coast. You need to commit to 500 lbs, or 13 bags.

Unless things have changed, LG pellets are all blended with filler woods like oak and contain only a small amount of the flavor wood listed on the bag.

Pit Boss and Louisiana are the same pellets from same place, The 2 smokers are sister companies, I have used them both extensively. I have also used traeger with no issues but I only buy them when I can't find the Pit boss or Louisiana ones. Up here in Canada we get a few varieties but they are not cheap. So I tend to buy 10+ bags at a time and 40lb bags. I have seen and tried bbq delight as well and did like them but again expensive for us and only 20lb bags. I have not got to try lumberjack so I can't say anything about them, You will be fine and I would think happy with the Louisiana as well as the Pit boss.

$46 for 40 pounds is insane. Shipping cost is included in that eBay price.
I pay $17 locally. Even less with a group buy.

I wish, Here I found that Peavy Mart similar to Tractor supply down south we can get pellets $30 40lb bag. That is cheapest I have found anywhere. Even to buy bulk not much better for us.

Lumber Jack Pellets from BBQ Pellets on Line $495.00 per ton plus $275.00 shipping equals $15.40 per 50# bag, don't think you'll find them any cheaper anywhere for 100% flavor wood pellets. I was paying more than that for 20# bags of non 100% flavor pellets.

I scored on some Apple as I was just about out, over black friday at our Home Of Economy. On sale they were $4.99/20# of Lumberjack. Had plenty others or would have stocked up. Normal $11.99

I ended up getting Lumberjack pellets from Dicks. I hate dealing with them but they had a 20% off with free shipping over $25.
