southern Ca,
me and my mom have been going back and forth that paprika has no flavor and i can't make her believe so please send me so info to prove her wrong

Get some good Hungarian Paprika and make Chicken Paprikash.  One of the most famous Hungarian dishes, and the flavor comes from the paprika.  A simple dish to make, it'll make a believer out of her.  Goulash also relies heavily on paprika.

Paprika does have some awesome flavors.  Once you taste some good paprika you will change your mind on it being tasteless

The best ones have an incredible smokey flavor

Hot smoked spanish paprika has lots of flavor as well. Domestic paprika on the other hand I use for color mostly.

I thought my mom's paprika in her pantry didn't have much flavor, I don't know how old it is but it was in a littler shaker bottle. I just recently tasted some of my sweet hungarian paprika that I ordered from the spice house and it has a good amount of flavor.

I use hot hungarian and regular hungarian all the time and it does add a fair amount of flavor. It's not a great deal but I can taste it

If your Mom is anything like mine...She probably has the bottle of McCormick she bought in 1962 to make Deviled Eggs!...Yeah no taste!  The Hungarian Brand in the Red Can at the grocery is a good local choice but do some searching on line and you will find fairly expensive brands from Hungry and Spain that are amazingly Bright, Rich and Full Flavored...In any event any Ground Spices in your Pantry that don't get used in 3-4 Months will be pretty seriously degraded and you will have to increase the amount used. Whole Spices will be good 12 months or so...Let Mom read This...JJ    http://www.budapest-tourist-guide.com/hungarian-paprika.html
