It's no classic muscle car but I did pimp out my free Weber kettle. New upper grate, new vortex and new handles. Anyone have the cast iron insert for the upper grate? I'm aware that i don't "need" it but that's not exactly the point of this site now is it....

I know I can order online... just wondering who has bought one and if it's worth it

Sorry I thought you wanted to buy at a local store. I have often wondered if it's a worth while purchase aswell. We are not big on steaks here so doubt it's worth it for us.

Not big on steaks? That there is vegetarian speak. That grate will sear a steak great as long as you let it warm up properly. That's what I really miss about my Weber Q the cast iron grates were awesome.

Cast iron grates are great for searing. Steaks aren't the only thing one can sear. I love a good smoked pork chop seared. Or a hunk of Ahi seared on each side and rare in the middle, so good!
