southern Ca,
Me and my family took our annual October camping trip.We wanted to go to the mountains for

our trip but with the hole government shut down we had to go somewhere local.Since we camped local we were able to spend more on food, needles to say we ate great!!! All in all we had a great time,we took our RV out for the first time,my mom slept in the RV while my family slept out side tents.Me and my wife are true campers we per fur to sleep out doors

Camping is a time for me to get back to my old spirit not shaving, fresh air and the out doors but most of all cooking with cast iron on a open fire.Cooking out doors taste and feels so great. That's the one thing I look forwarded to most of all but my family is number one.I wish I had pics to share we you, somehow we always for get our camera our we forget to charge the batteries.

Sounds like a good time!!! Nothing better than getting the family together on outings like that!!!

This is the best time to go camping! I keep hearing all this noise about not being able to camp anywhere because the Gov is shut down. Glad we dry camp and don't have to worry about those kind of things!!! The last time I camped in a real campground the crew next to us set up four generators and three flat screen TV's so they could watch Nascar all weekend. I thought camping was about leaving that crap behind and enjoying the outdoors, ughhhhh.

Sorry about the generators, that could have been me.  Hold on, you live in Oregon, if memory serves me right, I have never went that far away camping.  I do recall driving a truck through Bend several time though.

That's what I thought leaving the electronics and technology behind and getting back to basics. A family can get lose in the ever day hustle and bustle of life.Camping is a time for the family to slow down and remember what is most important FAMILY!!!

I'm always bummed when we get to one of our favorite camp areas only find out that there is now cell coverage... Still a few holes out there but getting fewer and fewer every year!

Glad to hear, you had a good time, but dare I ask, where are the pics of your smoked meals?

You should have seen me trying to post pics of the meals we created during our recent camping trip.   Talking about having to rough it.

I agree with the camping, When my wife and I got married, we had kids from our previous marriages,  She had 4 boys, oldest almost 9 YO, I had 2 boys and a girl, Oldest 5 years old.

We went camping a lot during the summer months, Actually, I could say we raised the kids doing camping, Cooking over a campfire, swimming in a lake or pond, hiking in the hills, All that fun camping stuff.

Some of our most enjoyable trips were just out in the national forest, not in maintained campgrounds, Just up some logging or forest service road and make camp. We taught the kids to pack out what we bring in, never leave a burning or hot campfire, The safety rules of camping. To this day, all but 1 of my kids go camping and take their kids camping. Love it.

I'm glade to have a wife that loves roughing it.My wife makes a great camp wife, some of my fondness memories as a kid was waking up to a warm camp fire.I think that is what got me addicted to camping
