Yesterday I finally decided to go ahead and order a Lang 36 Hybrid Patio. It's the same as the original patio version with a warmer and chargrill attached. It's so new that they don't even have a picture of it!

I was really wanting to have a custom built smoker and had two guys that wanted to build something for me. One guy just completed a 1,000 gallon reverse flow smoker for Sonny's BBQ and has two more to build. The other guy has one of the most beautiful grills I had ever seen but it wasn't reverse flow.

After doing a lot of research I finally went with Lang. I talked to Ben the owner and also his son. (Maybe Bens wife also). They are really a great bunch of people. The smoker gets nothing but great reviews and eventually it was an easy decission.

The manufacturing plant is in Southern Georgia and I'm in Central Florida. It would be a 5 hour drive to get there and another 30 minutes north to find a hotel. The problem I had is that I couldn't find a trailer in my area or in the area of Lang! I guess because it is just a few days away from Memorial Day when it would be completed and everyone must have rented all the trailers. Oh well, I'll just have to wait a few extra days unless they complete the smoker sooner than they have scheduled.

End result, I can't wait!

BTW- Thanks DaveO for posting your pics of the Lang 36 you had delivered. It let me get an idea of what to expect. I do imagine with the warmer box and chargrill it will be a bit heavier and longer!

I'll keep you posted when it arrives and will post up some LANG-View!

Congrats the Lang is a great smoker and I can't wait to see pics of the new model

Thanks much. It's so funny. They advertise the model on the website but don't show pictures. I called up and asked if they had some they could email me. "Well, I think I have a picture of it on my cell phone.....nope, its gone). I was cracking up.

I'll just have to wait, I guess but it's killing me not knowing the layout.

I know some may think I'm stupid for buying something "sight unseen" but from everything I've learned I don't feel I'll have buyers remorse.

I'll definetly be taking pics from the dock to the curing.

Look at the 48 patio hybrid pictures, I'm sure that will give you a very good idea of the lay out. I'd love to see pictures of the model when you get it. Congrats!!!

Thanks Raymo,

Ben Lang told me the same thing and I checked his website for photo's but I think it's a different horse, if you know what I mean.

It'll all work out. I'm committed. Here's it's new home.

I would love it if you posted pics after getting it. I just put a deposit down on the same model (36 hybrid with the warming box). I won't be getting mine until the middle of summer and the unknown is driving me crazy! I assumed it will look a lot like the 48 hybrid he has on his website, but you never know until you see it.

I just talked to Ben Lang and he said you're 36 and mine will go into production at the start of next week. They'll both be finished about the same time. I was going to go pick it up in Georgia but changed my mind and will have it shipped. I'm in Florida and you're in Arizona so I guess I can post you some pictures of what it looks like a couple days before you get yours!

PS-Just giving you a hard time!

When's the due date?
I spoke to them on Friday and they indicated they wanted to work on Memorial Day to get the two 36 Hybrids completed. They indicated they would be done by today and hopefully shipped. Worst case scenario is they will ship tomorrow. Bottom line, they promised it will be delivered this week! Looks like it will get here in time for my wifes and my 30th anniversay party this Sunday.

Burn in on Saturday and smokin' on Sunday!

Can't wait.
