Oak wood that looks like it's contaminated

Only 1 guy commented here so I put it on my welding forum where theres is a wealth of knowledge and a guy that runs a saw mill said oak has tannin in the wood cells and when they come in contact with iron it crates these dark spots. Supposedly it's even safe to use but not sure I will. Thanks for looking
