Hey all, was just in the mood for a steak on the grill... So pulled a couple NY strips outta the freezer yesterday... Put one in SPOG & one in blackening seasoning overnite !

Here they are before the grill...

On the kettle with the vortex, wow does this get hot !

Here's what we ended up with.... Had the strips with taters & gravy with green beans !

These got away from me a bit & got a little overdone for us.... Dang it ! But was still a quick but tasty meal, thanks for lookin !

Looks great to me. Not over cooked to many people. Me included.

Hey Brother! Man, those look mighty good from here! I'm more of a medium guy than medium rare, so those look pretty near perfect to me! It looks like I may have to have one of those vortex deals...several of you guys are getting such good results with them on your kettles.

Thanks man, I just let them go a bit too long on the sear... We like em just a bit more rare than these, but they were still tasty ! Thanks for the point too !

Justin I would eat them any day, maybe twice on Sunday. I can almost taste that sear great job. Points

Justin you might consider them overdone but they're just how I like mine. And New York strips are my first choice over ANY cut of beef. You'd have to fight me off with a big stick.

Great job.

Hey Red, sorry for the very delayed response ! I appreciate the nice words & point my friend. Yea, I do enjoy the vortex... IMO it really is a game changer to the already versatile kettle !
