Hey Patti

That was funny.  I take it there are supposed to be pics with the descriptions, but I can't seem to get them.  Plain disgusting and really unappetizing without them!!!!  Think I'll pass--though I can't see why anybody wouldn't be champing at the bit to try some of these delicacies.

Mmmmmmmm Liver Loaf...
At least Vitamin B is in abundance.

Yummo, right?? All that vitamin b totally makes it worth it!

We ate a lot of commercial canned stuff when I was growing up, mostly veggies though.  Spam and chipped beef are the only canned meats I can remember mom serving.  I ate a lot of Spam at university too.  And camping.  Spam was always fried.  The chipped beef was always in white gravy over toast.

Canned hamburgers and whole canned chicken .............

They probably couldnt pay anyone to eat it lol

I happen to love spam, my husband likes it in pasta salad, hash, sandwiches, etc. We dont get it very often so it's kind of a treat for us. Never tried chipped beef.

It's funny how younger people are so easily horrified.
I was actually looking for the canned tamales not long ago. Ended up having to make them myself.
Before refrigeration went mainstream people depended on these canned goods to feed their families. Like Crocodile Dundee said, "it tastes like $h!t but you can live on it.".

count me in as one that likes spam , tho I like it fried better , we keep a few cans of it on hand in case the power goes off in the middle of  a snowstorm

hell I can always cook it on the grill even in a blizzard

That's great , nicegirl . I too enjoy Spam Good Grilled , BBQed , cold on sandwitches , but I mostly like it fried with Homefries and a couple of nice , over easy Eggs with Biscuits :drool
