Although it's not for me, I'm proud of your efforts. I lost sight of my belt buckle at age 11, and haven't seen it these last 66 years. My quarterly blood work says all is wellish, so I have that going for me. I'm holding at 225, but my doc would like me at 175. That will never happen, which may disappoint her, but not me. I simply don't like the lifestyle I would have to adopt to attain and maintain such a goal. My lifestyle will kill me someday, but I think I'll hit 90 before that happens. It's in my genes! :DI have dropped over 75 pounds since last spring on a low carb/dirty keto type of diet. The only cheat days were Thanksgiving and Christmas for one meal on each day. I too feel so much better, but more than 60 years of bad habits mean I still have a way to go.
I do eat the occasional mandarin orange, grapes, etc... but nothing with processed sugar. Drinking all water except for my one cup of regular coffee in the morning. LMNT salt for electrolytes, and monk fruit for coffee as well.
I miss "real" pizza the most. But there are ways to make low carb pizza and crustless pizza bowls that keep me happy enough.
The best bread substitute I've found is the Lewis Bake Shop "Keto" bread line. They have it at Kroger around here. A number of flavor options, with either 1 or 0 carbs. I like the "5 seed" version with 1 gram of carbs per slice, so a sandwich, burger, etc... is only 2 grams.
If you like smoking meats and making sausage, the low carb diets are made for you! Bacon, and pretty much all meats are on the menu all day!
5'10". I have Dunlop's Disease. My belly dun lopped over my belt. :D225 and can't see your belt buckle ? You must be 4 ' tall .

They will probably take my bread and beer from my cold, dead hands someday, but that's OK. I'm in this for a good time, not a long time, but it seems I'm getting both. I've already made it to 77, so we'll ride this out to the ever so tasty end. We'll live as long as our lifestyle permits. I'll not talk about my absolute love of butter, salami, other processed sausages, and mass quantities of red meat.
Based on those height/weight charts, I should be considerably taller. :D
At least, I don't smoke. But, I don't drink responsibility, either.
If one buys a big bag of frozen mozzarella cheese sticks and heats them up in an air fryer, are considered fried food? Asking for a friend...lol
Since this post, I have really thought about it! My final thoughts are if you dip in an egg wash, and kinda firmly press in a crushed pork rind coating… and then air fry… I think that sounds legit! @indaswamp Keith, your thoughts?!
Justin, My wife and I have stopped oil frying a lot of food we love. I'm doing most of it on my kettle with the Vortex.
Chicken fried steak(Don't pay attention to the gravy part)
Chicken Fried Steak and Sausage Gravy.
On mothers day I bought the wife a couple of 1.5 twin lobsters. I didn't dare offer to cook these on the grill(for fear of my life) so into a pot of seasoned boiling water they went and she was a happy camper. Since she had the lobsters I had a free cook day to do something that I like. I think...www.smokingmeatforums.com

Blooming Onion - Kettle Style
Just a quick post today. The weather was beautiful once again yesterday. Slight breeze and temps in the lower 80s. So, I decided to Q up a quick dish for my wife's and my supper. Time to fire up the old beer pole: First step is to slice up the onion. Then it gets an initial coating of...www.smokingmeatforums.com
Chicken parmesan also works wellThat all looks phenomenal…. Back in the day done a kettle chicken fried steak. Now, I’d do a pork rind coating… instead of the corn flakes.
