So my wife was sent home with 4 pork butts to pull for a work party tomorrow it was smoked buy a BBQ team. Sponsored by her company (friends of the owner). So I heated up mine that I smoked on thursday made the last 2 sammies we each ate 1 then I heated up sum of what she had pulled for work didnt have much smell to it I dont think there was a rub on it and not a good taste and a even worse after taste she even spit hers back on to her plate haha then says to me I cant believe your finishing that. Then I soaked it in the homemade BBQ sauce and that didnt help. So between mine and theres I won the comp tonight. Thanks to SMF and all the info I get from here shows that a newbie can do anything!

LOL...That great!...You need to send your wifes boss some of Your Q...You will have a sponsor after one Taste! My wife works part time for a Harley dealer with a small Qjoint on their property...They thought That was the best until I sent samples of my work in! When their lease is up I may have a new Qjoint to run....JJ

IT AINT BRAGGING IF YOU CAN BACK IT UP!!!!

Awesome - That just proves that anyone can have a sponsor but does not mean they are good.

if we could

I went to the pig fest here in town this weekend & I always go to the peoples choice tent so I can taste all the teams BBQ. We went with another couple & we all agreed there was nothing special about any of it. Kinda makes you feel good to know that your own BBQ is pretty good.

What eman said!

My daughter went into a new Que joint here in town (it's a national chain and it ain't Famished Dave's) and ordered a two meat plate-ribs and pulled pork and my son-in-law ordered the brisket sammich. As they were leaving, the Manager asked how their food was; the sil replied "it's passible". The manager asked "What do you mean 'passible' and my daughter replied, "it's good but it ain't daddy's, his has flavor and a smoke ring".

Did I tell ya that I LOVE my little girl???

SmokedInSTL, GREAT JOB

Had a similar experience with Sweet Lucy's Smokehouse.

Dutch great story!

Al, you nailed it

Ditto Eman and Scarbelly.

They dont even have a resturant its just 4 guys sponsored by my wifes work so you would think that if your gonna cook for your sponsors company and there customers it would be great very disapointing. They cooked for the company this summer at the owners pool party and it was ok they cooked what they won a competition in Indy with lobster stuffed tenderlion it was atleast edible but not award winning. Great story Dutch LMAO
