Knox county and a couple private schools were closed today. Your wife is right I guarantee you they will extend spring break a week or two. Announcement will probably come later today if I had to guess. Blount county was telling students to take home their books and chromebooks
I would say that your correct on the announcements. I've texted her several times today and slow to respond. Tells me she is having to do her admin side of her job and in meetings.

since most costcos and food stores are out of a lot of meat, especially chicken, I am going to hit restaurant depot today. I am thinking that restaurants are probably not buying as much and they are not open to the general public there will still be some left.

Schools are pretty much closed everywhere now. There was a child in a community near here that was diagnosed a few days ago. That right there is reason to shut down. I guess it's lucky that spring break is around the corner so the kids won't lose so much time and the parents were already working on day care alternatives.
We're retired, so we don't get out a lot anyway, so that isn't a big issue for us. The Mrs is recovering from major back surgery and doesn't go anywhere but Doctor appts. and I only get out every 3 or 4 days for groceries, etc.
My main concern is for the folks who are losing paycheck because of it. I hurt for them and hope this works itself out soon....

Seems to be going better than it was for awhile.
Leaders stopped calling it a Hoax, Nobody's wearing Gas Masks in the Well of the house, to make a big joke out of it, and we're starting to hear the Professionals talking. Hopefully we aren't too late to smooth out that Peak

No school in Pa. for 2 weeks. Until this afternoon all of the cases were in the easternmost part of the state. Now I'm hearing that there is a case in South Western Pa. below Pittsburgh.

Been at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester ( right next door to Mayo Clinic ) with mom a good part of the week. Things seem pretty normal around here so far, still letting visitors in. Did hear the Mayo clinic released a new test yesterday to help take some pressure off the cdc with all the needed testing.

I stopped at Wal-Mart on my way home and like some of you got well stocked on beverages. Not a single item in the frozen section or paper products. Forget about ground beef if you needed any of that. I did get a bag of charcoal ,some fishing gear and a pork butt. They were out of bone in so I had to settle for a boneless. Oh yea and potatoes were all gone too.

I did hit up restaurant depot today..totally packed, it seems like anyone that had access to a membership card was their picking up for the neighbors. They were low on meat but still had chop meat and most others. I grabbed a box of chicken cutlets that I thought was 2 - 10 lb bags. When I got home realized I now have 40lbs of cutlets!!! I will be vac packing and trying to find freezer space for a while. Oh well was only $1.15/lb but I did feel sorry for the restaurants there trying to pick up goods for the weekend as some of the lines were well over an hour.

It took China nearly 10 weeks to slow the growth of their outbreak and that was with them instituting quarantines on a scale that I don't see this country possibly doing.
China has 3rd world sanitation practices. and the place is packed like a sardine can. Both are ripe for fast transmission of a virus.

Same Same around here.
I must be missing something. Can somebody please tell me why toilet paper is such a big target.
I'm used to big snow storms, when Milk & Bread are the main "Victims".

When they call for an inch of snow here , they buy all the milk .

Back in my 20's we used to go to a buddies property . Had 300 acres in Daniel Boone forest .
By the end of the weekend , guys wearing one sock and sleeves ripped off their shirts .

Schools are shut down for 6 weeks here in WA. Luckily, I don't have school-aged kids anymore, and my grandkids are too young yet.

My niece is a nurse in a large hospital in Columbus (OH) and says the 14 day quarantine is probably coming. Was hoping for anything but that.
