No more carousel pics

It's been working. The feature items time out and you have to remember we all have jobs and a life and sometimes we forget to keep up with it.

Man I didn't mean to cause any confusion. I've just always heard other members refer to the rotation of great BBQ pics on the home page as the "Carousel". I've always seen it as an honor to get one of your pics on the carousel & I'm glad it's back and BOOM we get to see an awesome pic of a beautiful brisket.

And any remarks about membership participation (or lack of) weren't directed to any specific members but an observation that there are literally dozens of members who used to come and post great meat & BBQ pics but don't any longer. We all get busy, I'm no different and so is life and I do get that part.

I've always enjoyed reading post by other who enjoy cook outdoors and the pics they post. We can't control who comes and goes but we can fire up our cookers and cook. I promise to do my part this summer (and I will post a few pics along the way )

"Carousel", "featured scroll", "the spinner"...that flashy thing that tells people they are on to something when they first click-in here, and for the members to get an accolade here and there for a nice pic.

I hadn't noticed it was down. I took a hiatus for several years from here for reasons I wont belabor (Likely nobody noticed or cared), and back then I did all the BBQ stuff, PP, Ribs, Brisket, Fatty, Turkey breast...on and on and posted the pics. For some reason when I do that stuff again, I feel like as far as pics, I could just pull up my old ones and re-post because it all starts to look the same

That's why I've been sharing non-Q stuff, stews, etc.. I'm glad this site doesn't have a problem with that because I like the variety of things people are doing. Great ideas can be found.

I still owe one of the older members "Smokin Al" a followup. He pops in once in a while and took a fancy to an Asian meal I posted and asked about Gado-Gado. I told him I would create something but it might take as long as years because it literally takes me that long to get back around to some things, including projects around the house! It's on my list to hopefully get to this spring/summer.

Like others, I also have plenty of other stuff to do...and I'm NOT retired either. Lately work has been light but I have to stay near the computer/office in case I'm needed for something, so I've had a few days to piddle here and on the internet in general taking care of some digital chores! Sometimes I'm overwhelmed with life and work.
