Newbie with masterbuilt pro 30 first gen temperature sensor

Its about halfway down the back wall, and looks like a little silver toggle switch
(borrowed that description from someone else on here, though it was pretty accurate)
 
The dime size flat sensor is the safety over heat snap disc switch that cuts power to the element if the temp is over 302f. It's good to keep them clean from grease/splatters but I have yet to see if it corrected a heating issue when people report their Mes isn't performing properly. It's usually a controller issue and the all famous quote in electric smokers forum "The Mes controller sensor is notoriously inaccurate."
