Hi all, my name is Zac Anderson - I'm located in the Elgin, IL area and I'm currently enrolled in the local culinary school. I consider myself pretty decent at BBQ'n things but I'm taking the plunge into smoking meats. I was given a new Char-Broil H20 Water Smoker so that's what I have to work with along with two big kettle Weber charcoal grills. I've used the Weber in the 'indirect' method along with a few wood chips to get a tri-trip how I like it...now I'd like to experiment with the smoker I was given.
I understand how to set it up and hopefully maintain a good temp but my main question is this. I'd like to convert it to a electric smoker using the Brinkmann Electric Conversion kit? (http://www.barbecue-smoker-grill.com/elcoforchsm.html)
I have a nice cast iron smoker box for the chips and some cherry and other misc. purchased blocks from a retailer a few years back. I think this kit would seem to work for the conversion. Any ideas?
Thanks and glad to be on board...
