I've been soaking on this one for a while (I think I've read almost every "help me pick out a pellet smoker" post in this forum - and I've worn YouTube out) but after seeing that brand new REC TEC RT-700 of B's I decided to just go for it. We drove down to Weatherford to David's Stove Shop and made the purchase. If you're ever in that area, Weldon the pellet smoker guru of David's is truly a wealth of knowledge on every pellet smoker they carry (and they carry a LOT of different brands & models.) It was nice to actually see all the different make and models and Weldon has used about every model they sell.
I'm gonna tell ya, if you go with one of these tanks be prepared to handle it. We loaded it with a forklift into the back of the pick-up and I unloaded it with an electric overhead hoist in my shop/barn. I also installed 2 thermometers in the door once I got it unloaded, then I wheeled it to the screened in smoke room/patio out back of the barn for it's initial burn in last night. I plan to fire it up shortly and my first cook will be Rib eyes on the searing plates. Looking forward to learning how to get the most out of this puppy. I'll follow up with some results. I plan to use the heck out of it this week while I'm off work.
