New toy on the way, need some input

I ordered the #2 package & Pitmaster blend of dust from A-maze-N. already cut out the smoker & mailbox. So I need some info to close my learning curve. For those who've made this mod, do I need to put holes in the mailbox for ventilation or just use the door as a vent? if so,how far do you leave the door open?
