Hello everyone. As the title states i'm new here and to the world of smoking. I have not even purchased a smoker yet as I am seeking information from experienced people on which route would be the best way to go for me. I have always wanted to try it and after seeing a thread on a hunting site, I figured it was something I was really interested in.

So if someone would like to help educate a newbie, please feel free to help. There is too much new information and I really have no clue where to start. So thanks in advance for any info

Welcome to the board! What are your smoking needs? Cooking for a bunch of people or just one or two? Want to set-and-forget something automatic, or fuss with a fire?

Just for a small group, 5 at most, but usually just 2 or 3 people. I figured a set it and forget it would probably be best to start with if they are not too expensive.

What else would you suggest to purchase that is needed for smoking?

A remote dual therm makes smoking a lot easier! You can watch your meat and pit temps from inside your house or doing yardwork. Most people here have either a mav or an igrill.

Reliable grill tools, not cheap seasonal stuff. High-quality forks and spatulas, tongs, etc. Big zip-seal bags. At least one good injector, similar to a giant hypodermic needle. That's just a few quick basics.
