hambone1950 here...(.thats the year i was born) i live in the suburbs of boston and ive grilled all my adult life , but im a novice smoker. i had a brinkmann cheapie smoker which was pure aggravation to cook on , but my sweet wife just bought me a WSM for my birthday and it is perfection. i could not believe how well it performed. i smoked a boston butt as a trial run and that smoker cooked at 250 for 8 solid hours without any tweaking at all. i am so looking forward to cooking all kinds of stuff this summer and fall. im doing a whole chicken tomorrow night and in the near future i plan to do ribs and then (drumroll) BRISKET! i will be checking into this forum to get ideas and tips. look forward to chatting with all you veteran smokers.
