Hi all, can you recommend a simple, tasty beginner meant I can smoke the day after Xmas?
I have the sister-in-law coming by that day. I just purchased a new smoker and I'm eager to try it out - Rec Tec Bullseye grill. We do have a nice butchers near by with great meat...

I know its probably been asked before but thought I'd see if anyone has suggestions for a newb.

Thanks in advance.

Pork Butts are easy, inexpensive. Go to the "Search" at the top center right and put in Pork Butt and see what ya get. Now me, I always cook a Pork Butt and a Chuck Roast below it in the smoker so the pork can drip on the chuck roast while cooking, smoking.

How about prime rib? That's what I'm doing. I just seasoned mine. Salt pepper and some garlic powder. Tiny bit of worsteshire sauce too. Just a little, few dabs on each side and spread evenly. And it's in the fridge, I cut most the fat off. Left about 1/4" and that's it. Becuase I don't wanna see anyone having to cut the fat out of there pieces and I don't wanna mistake a piece of meat for fat when it's all done when cutting it and serving. so I know it's ready to eat when done. All I'm going to do is bring it up to 125-130 and that's it, check on pit temps to of course on a stick burner. Apple cherry some oak and some walnut. Mainley cherry and apple tho. Have fun with waterver u cook!! U could do chicken wings too, I'm doing that aswell and going to marinade them in concentrated orange juice tomorrow for couple hours

I second pork butts! Inexpensive, almost impossible to mess up, very easy and best of all tastes amazing ... and with left overs usually to freeze! Or spare ribs, shorter cook/smoke time, more forgivable than babybacks.... shoot! Anything is good in the smoker, not trying to throw alot at you... brats, wings, chicken quarters, whole chickens possibilities are endless!

Double smoked ham and, meatloaf are both quick and easy.
