new to smoking

Hi, I'm Kyle and i'm still pretty new to smoking. I live in Perry, OK and I built my smoker out of a 55 gal. barrel back in june and have had great success with it so far thanks to smoking-meat.com. i have only looked around on the forum a handful of times but it has helped each time so i decided to sign up. At the moment my smoker burns charcoal but i have been thinking of either converting it to propane or just buying a propane smoker, just have to do a little more research on it. If anyone could tell me about how long a 5 gallon propane tank lasts that would be helpful. Thanks.

I have a GOSM propane smoker and I logged my smoke times once to find out how long my propane was lasting. I have 4.7 gallon bottles and I have them filled so I know how much I am getting, I don't do the exchanges because the bottles are never fully filled. Well I quit writing in my log when I hit 42 hours and it probably went another 4 or 5 hours.
