New to smoking/BBQ.

Good afternoon all. My name is Chris, and I am attempting to figure out the art of smoking. My family and I were just transferred to Tennessee from California (Navy).

I've got plenty of years of grilling experience, but never attempted to smoke before. My wife just got me a smoker with SFB and I am currently seasoning it as I type this. Hopefully I can attempt to smoke something later this week.

I look forward to reading and learning the good and bad, and hopefully sharing my experience here as well.

Thanks Gary! I am planning on smoking a whole chicken first I think. I will probably do it similar to the way I do beer can chicken, it will just be a different way of cooking it. I am quite sure that I will have many, many questions for everyone.
