While cooking with my friends yesterday, they tell me their neighbor has a large BGE he is wanting to sell. He listed it on the neighborhood facebook page. I looked at the picture, asked the price, and said,"Sold!" Went pick it up this evening. I got a hell of a deal! I have been cooking on my buddy's BGE for over 25 years so when he told me about this one, I jumped on it. Should never have to buy another grill ever....as long as the BGE does not crack that is.

I miss cooking on a kamado. Taught how to smoke salmon on it. That was over 40 years ago.

I have had my LBGE since 2010 or so and have only replaced a fire ring. I learned everything on that thing and still use it all the time. I had acquired a few more pits over the years but when I got divorced I sold the rest and kept this and the Smoke Vault for cold smoking.

Congrats on the Egg purchase. Ive had mine for about 3 years now and just love using it. My bradley and WSM sit idle a fair bit now, but thats ok. Enjoy your new toy.

Thank you everyone.

I guess with all the knock-offs that came to market in the last...what...5-10 years; the resale value on BGE's has dropped. Why would someone want to buy a used BGE for the same price as a new Akorn or other Kamado style grill? I could not belief what the selling price was.

Way cool enjoy that new toy Keith

Nice score. I had one for years I loved for grilling. I never really did much smoking on it.

The benefit that comes with being an original BGE owner is that its warrantied for life. Anything cracks or breaks is all replaced without question.

Guess I need to check with the owner for documentation of ownership. I hear ownership and warranty is transferable.
