Just received a new Brickmann electric smoker as an early wedding gift and can't wait to use it this weekend! I am a huge fan of slow roasting in the oven and the crock pot. Ribs, brisket, pork butt, pork belly are some of my favorites. I roasted a whole pig back in august for the first time.

I have never smoked anything and figured this electric smoker would be a good starter unit until my buddy and I get around to building a serious charcoal/wood smoker.

I never do anything small so I'm jumping in with 9.25 pounds of pork belly (apple cider based brine, multiple dry rubs) sweet potatoes, various onions, whole garlic cloves, portabella mushrooms and apples.

I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to smoking but I found this forum and it seems like a place I can get some good info in the next couple of days...

Please comment with any tips, ideas, and/or recipes for any of the above foods!

Thanks,

Anthony
