Hello SMF!
I am a blind bbqer with a shiny new MES 40 that I'm hoping the members here will lend a hand with advice so that I can turn out some tasty eats.  I'm hoping to do some brisket and ribs to start and I'll see where this trip will take me.
I figured the electric smoker may be a little easier to manage then wood or charcoal in my situation *smile*
I've been lurking a bit until I bought my MES 40 and now that It's here so am I.

Hello and welcome to SMF! I have an MES40 and really enjoy the ease of it. First get a good thermometer to check the control set temp with the actual cabinet temp. Most vary and this way you'll be able to compensate the difference.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions...we're here to help! I have a blind son. Glad to have you here!

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I have the maverick 732 for the mrs and now I'm searching out a talking thermometer for myself.

Now to the labratory to figure out a rub to put on my ribs!

I just finished Jeff's eCourse - I feel much better firing up our smoker now. The course covers all the basics pretty perfectly and gets your 'creative' juices asking questions...which will lead you here ; )

Best of luck to you!
