Yep it's gas and a 1st for me. But I haven't used for shopped for a gasser in a long time.

I use my Weber Genesis grill for quick meals during the week, or when I'm feeling lazy, and don't feel like messing around with coals, wood, and ashes.
I always add 2 to 4 pieces of charcoal and a smoke bomb/ wood chips in an old soup can with hole drilled in it, and some heavy weight foil to cover the open end.
I place all of the above right on the burner, it adds a little character to my gas grilled food.
People I've cooked for are now doing the same on their own gas grills, so I guess it's noticeable.
I use oak from our tree, mesquite or hickory, if I have some laying around. Chips work better than chunks, but I have used fist sized chunks wrapped in foil to keep them from combusting, I just pop a few hole in the foil with my pocket knife.
I hope you found a good grill, they come in handy.
We only have a single oven, so I use indirect heat when our power is out in the summer, or when I need extra oven space around the holidays.
I laugh when people say that they can taste propane from a gas grill.
Then I ask them if they can taste the natural gas on the food that they cook on their gas range, or oven, and they say no.
